Charlotte Youth Ballet is a nonprofit regional ballet company that gives student dancers from across the Charlotte area the chance to perform in professional-quality productions alongside guest artists. It is a genuine way to gain performance experience, build confidence, and connect with the wider dance community. We encourage our dancers to audition.
Audition details
- Who should audition
- Dancers interested in The Nutcracker, Snow White and the Seven Dwarves, or both productions.
- Audition times
- Saturday, September 12, 2026 12:30 – 1:20 p.m. 3rd–4th grade girls & boys 1:30 – 2:30 p.m. Non-pointe girls (5th grade+) & middle school boys 2:45 – 4:15 p.m. Pointe dancers (13+, two or more years of pointe) & high school boys
- Parent meeting
- A parent or family representative must attend one of the informational meetings held during auditions.
- Audition attire
- Solid-colored leotard, pink ballet tights, appropriate ballet shoes (flats or pointe), and hair secured in a neat bun.
- Participation fee
- $250 per production, per dancer. Boys are half price.
- Registration
- Online registration opens on the Charlotte Youth Ballet website in August. Times and details can change, so please check their site before audition day.
